IT JUST IS

It is the feel of satin sheets on an evening in July. Cool, soft, its weight just enough to remind you that it is there to comfort you. You need no such reminder though. You sought after it knowing this.

It is the comfort of a thick fleece blanket on a cold January morning. It wraps around you and offers warmth. Yet if it lingers too long you have difficulty breathing. And you would gladly sacrifice your next breath to keep it around you a moment longer.

It is the joy of hearing from a long-absent loved one. It fills you with the sense that all is right in the world. There is no sadness when it is with you.

It is the melancholy of remembering lost love. The memory of the love is sweet, but the pain of the loss dances around the edges, haunting you.

It is the grandeur of the view from atop a mountain as storm clouds part to allow the sun passage. You experience it and know that you are connected, a part of the whole.

It is the simple beauty of a single wild flower sprouting through the crack in a sidewalk. It insists on being there, surrounded by grey hardness. And you don't dare remove it because you know that the surroundings would be much less without it.

It is all of these things in turn and at once, in the all-too-brief snippets of song that belong to it.

It is the voice of Clay.

    I don't know if I am an amazing woman or not, but I have been through a lot of trials. By God's Grace alone I have survived them all, so I'm sure that he is reflected in me, and that is what you see. Even learning how to have fun on Saturday (with no concerns) was another big experience for me. Man did I enjoy it!     image
